About Electric Brae
"Electric" Brae is so-called because of the popular misconception that electric or magnetic attraction was responsible for the optical illusion which made it seem like objects were being drawn up the hill.

Although the road appears to be running uphill, a suitably free-running vehicle or object will slowly move off from a standstill, as if in a downhill trajectory. This illusion runs the quarter mile from the bend overlooking Croy railway viaduct in the west to the wooded Craigencroy Glen...
