Charity Garden Opening - Dougarie

Most interesting terraced garden in a castellated folly built in 1905 to celebrate the marriage of the 12th Duke of Hamilton’s only child to the Duke of Montrose. Good selection of tender and rare shrubs and herbaceous border. Small woodland area with trees including _azara, abutilon, eucryphia, hoheria_ and_ nothofagus._ This is a fundraising event for the open garden charity Scotland’s Gardens Scheme which raises money for hundreds of local charities.
