About Maybole
The town of Maybole is situated in South Ayrshire, 9 miles south of Ayr.

Maybole has roots dating back to the Middle Ages, when it received a charter from Donnchadh, Earl of Carrick in 1193. The history of the town can be seen when walking the streets, such as the stunning architecture of the buildings on High Street. The town hall, built in 1887 is an impressive sight, all the way down to Maybole Castle, believed to be the town's oldest inhabited house, dating back to around 1560.
Further into the town is the local Parish Church. Built in 1808 in orange stone, it features an unsual square spire comprising six steps, that is almost Aztec looking it style.
Culzean Castle is perhaps the most popular reason for vistors to come to Maybole. Accessible from a clifftop walk in Culzean Country Park. This glorious 260ha estate was once home of David Kennedy, 10th Earl of Cassillil and is a both beautiful and extravagant building. It was designed by Robert Adam in the late 18th century.
