About Peden's Cave
Measuring roughly six feet by four, the tiny Peden's Cave was a temporary home for the famous Covenanting field Minister Alexander Peden. Forced into exile during the Killing Times of the 1680s which saw Covenanters in Scotland suffer rigorous oppression, Peden sought solace and shelter in this cave and several others, wandering the country to preach sermons wearing a mask.
