Ruth Slater Artist
Ruth Slater is a contemporary artist/illustrator. Her work features collections of miniature images that form a whole picture of a place. Architectural details, wildlife and distinctive landscape features that capture the real essence of a place. She created the Mini Bute Book to provide a potted history and a handy guide to exploring Bute. Her studio (just behind the phone box) is open by appointment and there you can browse the full range of her artwork, ceramics and stationery range. The studio hosts private art classes which is why it is not open to the public all the time. The chickens you see around the phone box provide delicious eggs which are often available for sale. Scottish tablet in a variety of flavours e.g vanilla, chocolate, salted caramel and coffee is for sale in a unique gift box and makes the perfect sweet treat to take home!
